Wench Bodice

Our Wench Bodice is based, in part, on historical research into Elizabethan bodices. We have taken pains to make this bodice into a figure enhancing garment that will flatter a variety of body types. We have taken some liberties with history, however, so while you should not consider this a historically accurate item, it is an excellent modern interpretation.

This is our newest style, made specifically for those wenches out there who are looking for some daring cleavage and the convenience of front laces.

Specifications:

  • Front & side laces.
  • Sewn Shoulder Straps for comfort.
  • Sweet Heart Neckline
  • 4 pieces of 1/2" flat steel boning or 6 with Ducktail option.
  • Seams finished with your choice of bias tape then double top-stitched.
  • Lined with heavy canvas.
  • Bone casings sewn on inside of lining to prevent boning from damaging bodice fabric.
  • Extremely adjustable, comfortable and uninhibiting.
  • The option of a flattering back-point and 2 additional pieces of boning - The Duck Tail!

    • Accent Fabric Info

  • "Accents" are extra pieces of fabric added to the garment. They include collars, shoulder caps, split caps, skirting, picadills, stomachers and others.

  • If you don't want to have accents on your garb, select "None".

  • If you want the entire garment including Accents made of the fabric you chose above, select "Same".

  • If you want a complimentary fabric used, view your options on our swatch page and select the fabric of your choice.

  • Choose "Sending Fabric" if you have the fabric you want already and will be mailing it.

  • Choose "Still Deciding" if you have ordered swatches and will choose your fabric once you get them.





    • Shoulder Accent Info

  • View pictures of our shoulder accents.

  • Solid shoulder caps are small, crescent shaped epaulets sewn onto the shoulder.

  • Split caps are the same as solid shoulder caps, except they are split into two pieces.





    • Bottom Accent Info

  • Bottom Accents are an optional enhancement to a basic bodice or doublet.

  • View pictures of our bottom accents.

  • Skirting is made up of 4 large tabs attached to the bottom of the bodice or doublet with two in the front and two in the back.

  • Piccadills consist of 8 small tabs attached to the bottom of the bodice or doublet with 4 in the front and 4 in the back.





    • Ducktail Info

  • All our front laced bodices are now ONLY offered with the ducktail. It helps keep the bodice from bunching and to give more shape, support and comfort overall.

  • The ducktail is a small point on the back along with two lines of steel boning running from the back of the arm hole down to the point.

    • Grommet Color Info

  • Grommets are the small metal rings that are inserted in the fabric to protect it while lacing. Choose the color that best suits your personal style and your fabric choice.

    Bias Tape Info

  • This is the trim that outlines the edges of your bodice or doublet. Black is standard, but for a more unique look, pick one of the colors available. If you need help deciding, just email or call.
