Rogue Doublet

Our Rogue Doublet is the perfect choice for the peasant, sailor, adventurer or other fellows of humble beginnings. Formed on the lines of a classic jerkin, this doublet is usually worn open and casually. Like all of our doublets, you can fancy it up in a variety of ways, but it's best to contact us directly for customization not offered on the site.

Side laces provide for an easy and comfortable fit. Shoulder and bottom treatments bring it all together for a garment that's got a lot of impact. 

It looks fantastic with any of our men's shirts, but especially with our Pirate Shirt.

Specifications:

  • Side laces and optional front grommets. For other closures, including buttons and loops, clasps, ties, etc. send us an email.
  • Seams finished with bias tape then double top-stitched.
  • Lined with broadcloth to keep you comfortable in hot weather.
  • Extremely adjustable, comfortable and casual.

  • Have something else in mind? You can send me fabric in the mail. Just make sure it's a sturdy, non-stretchy material. Then choose "Sending Fabric" from the drop down menu. A $5 - $20 surcharge may apply for difficult fabrics like satin, thin jacquards or velvet.





    • Accent Fabric Info

  • "Accents" are extra pieces of fabric added to the garment. They include collars, shoulder caps, split caps, skirting, picadills, stomachers and others.

  • If you don't want to have accents on your garb, select "None".

  • If you want the entire garment including Accents made of the fabric you chose above, select "Same".

  • If you want a complimentary fabric used, view your options on our swatch page and select the fabric of your choice.

  • Choose "Sending Fabric" if you have the fabric you want already and will be mailing it.

  • Choose "Still Deciding" if you have ordered swatches and will choose your fabric once you get them.





    • Shoulder Accent Info

  • View pictures of our shoulder accents.

  • Solid shoulder caps are small, crescent shaped epaulets sewn onto the shoulder.

  • Split caps are the same as solid shoulder caps, except they are split into two pieces.





    • Bottom Accent Info

  • Bottom Accents are an optional enhancement to a basic bodice or doublet.

  • View pictures of our bottom accents.

  • Skirting is made up of 4 large tabs attached to the bottom of the bodice or doublet with two in the front and two in the back.

  • Piccadills consist of 8 small tabs attached to the bottom of the bodice or doublet with 4 in the front and 4 in the back.

    • Grommet Color Info

  • Grommets are the small metal rings that are inserted in the fabric to protect it while lacing. Choose the color that best suits your personal style and your fabric choice.

    Front Closure Info

  • These are your options for closing the front of your garment.

  • Choose "None" if you want to leave the front of the garment open.

  • Choose "Grommets" if you want a line of grommets to lace up the front. They will be the same color as the grommets you chose above.

  • Contact us to find out about other options like buttons and loops, clasps, ties and others!





    • Bias Tape Info

  • This is the trim that outlines the edges of your bodice or doublet. Black is standard, but for a more unique look, pick one of the colors available. If you need help deciding, just email or call.
